JANKA is a handmade, thick winter beanie made from 100% sheep’s wool, with a folded brim and a slightly oversized shape — designed for chilly autumn days and deep winter cold. The range includes both ready-to-ship pieces and made-to-order beanies; after selecting your size, you will see the current lead time.
Thick winter beanie with a folded brim for very cold weather
This is a classic beanie with a folded edge, hand-knitted from a single strand of thick wool yarn. The rib stitch and chunky knit create a dense, springy fabric — in practice, this gives the feel of a very warm, substantial winter hat. The cobalt blue shade is bold and saturated, standing out well on grey, overcast days.
- 100% sheep’s wool — a natural fibre with Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certification, suitable if you are looking for a wool beanie rather than a synthetic high-street option.
- Thick knit and folded brim — the extra layer over the ears makes JANKA a genuinely very warm winter beanie, also suitable for frosty weather.
- Chunky knit beanie — the pronounced ribbed texture holds its shape well, while still letting you adjust the folded brim depending on whether you prefer a closer fit or a looser oversized look.
- Surface with a light fuzzy finish — the wool feels soft to the touch, but on very sensitive skin it may feel slightly itchy; if needed, you can wear a thin headband underneath.
- Beanie for autumn and winter — well suited to everyday trips into town, walks, and longer time outdoors when you need a warm wool beanie for women or men.
- Hand-knitted — each piece is made individually, and the detachable eco-leather label makes washing easier and safer.
How does JANKA work for everyday wear?
If you are looking for a thick wool beanie with a folded brim that gives real warmth on cold and windy days, JANKA is a good option; if your skin is especially sensitive to wool, it may be better to consider a style made from a gentler fibre.
