CHMURKA thin alpaca beanie – for in-between weather
The CHMURKA style from the classic line is a handmade beanie in smooth knit, in a purple shade called “sweet orchid”. The fine halo on the surface gives it a soft, slightly cloud-like look – visually it is closer to a subtle mohair-style beanie than to a typical dense winter hat. Thanks to its thin, lightweight construction, it works well as a warm women’s beanie for cooler days in the city, with a coat or a transitional jacket, when you want head coverage without overheating.
- Composition: 65% alpaca, 28% polyamide, 7% wool – the yarn combines natural fibres with a synthetic addition, which improves the stretch and durability of the fine knit; the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certificate confirms the yarn safety standard.
- Thin, lightweight knit – the beanie hardly feels heavy on the head; a good option if you do not like thick, heavy hats and are looking for something between a typical winter beanie and a lighter transitional one.
- Autumn / spring season – the no-turn-up construction and lighter weight mean this style is better treated as a warmer transitional beanie than as a very warm winter hat for the coldest frosts.
- Beanie shape: elongated at the back – the back falls slightly for an easy, modern silhouette; it sits well with different hairstyles and works with both casual and more polished outfits.
- Surface with a fine halo – gives a soft, cloud-like visual effect; at the same time, it means moderate resistance to pilling, so with frequent wear, natural bobbling typical of alpaca-blend wool hats may appear.
- Against the skin – the yarn may feel slightly itchy on very sensitive skin; if you are sensitive to that, it may be worth wearing it over your hair or with a thin headband underneath.
- Handmade with knitting needles – each beanie in this line is knitted individually, which gives the fabric a natural look and drape rather than a factory-made finish; a good choice if you are looking for a handmade beanie as a gift or for yourself.
- Eco-leather label – removable before washing, so it does not become stiff or distort the beanie.
- Accessories – you can pair the beanie with a scarf or snood (including an alpaca scarf or other alpaca scarves) to create a coordinated set: see available accessories.
- Care – hand washing in lukewarm water and drying flat are recommended; detailed advice on how to care for alpaca beanies and other wool hats can be found here: wool care instructions.
