Classic alpaca beanie in a light, soft green
The KIARA style is an alpaca wool beanie without a turn-up cuff, so it creates less bulk at the forehead and falls more loosely at the back. The light sea green shade leans towards a cool, softened pastel, which gives this alpaca beanie a light look despite its winter purpose. Aga used a single rib stitch here, which helps the knit keep its elasticity and clear vertical texture.
- The lack of a turn-up cuff reduces thickness at the forehead, so the beanie fits more easily under a hood.
- The extended back creates a looser fit at the back of the head, so the shape does not sit tightly all over.
- 100% alpaca in a medium weight works well through the autumn–winter season, so the beanie provides warmth without a heavy, bulky feel.
- The single rib stitch has natural stretch, so the beanie adjusts better in wear.
- The lightly fuzzy surface gives the knit a softer, less raw look, but very sensitive skin may notice slight itchiness.
- Good resistance to pilling helps it keep a neat appearance for longer, so the beanie handles regular wear well.
- Hand-knitting creates a clear, dimensional texture that is more visible and noticeable than in smooth factory-made beanies.
Accessories and care
If you like, we can also make a beanie with pom-pom in the same yarn and colour. You can also add a matching scarf, snood or shawl — an alpaca beanie and scarf set keeps the colour and texture consistent. The yarn has been tested for harmful substances. Hand wash this alpaca beanie and dry it flat to help it keep its shape; we have gathered a short guide here: how to care for wool accessories.
