Black WATA CUKROWA – a lightweight, fluffy handmade beanie in alpaca and merino wool
The WATA CUKROWA style is a women’s beanie with a folded brim and a visible, soft halo on the surface of the knit. The black colour and simple oversized shape make it easy to wear with a coat, puffer jacket or everyday city outerwear – from more polished outfits to casual looks. Thanks to the thin, springy knit with a high alpaca content, this style works well as a warm women’s beanie for a cool autumn and a typical winter in the city.
- Composition: 71% alpaca, 25% wool (merino), 4% polyamide – the natural fibres provide noticeable warmth while still allowing the skin to breathe; a good option if you are looking for an alpaca beanie for everyday wear rather than for extreme frost.
- Thin, lightweight knit with a fluffy texture – the beanie feels light on the head while creating a warm layer over the ears; it does not feel like a heavy, thick winter hat.
- Folded brim + oversized shape – the double layer over the ears increases warmth, while the looser top gives a more relaxed, modern look than classic close-fitting wool beanies.
- Handmade on knitting needles in a single rib stitch – the flexible construction adapts better to the shape of the head; each handmade beanie may have a slightly individual character.
- Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified yarn – the yarn has been tested for harmful substances, which matters to those who pay attention to textile composition and safety.
- Against the skin: it may feel slightly itchy on very sensitive skin – for typical sensitivity it is generally felt as soft and cosy, but if you are clearly sensitive to wool, a style with a different fibre composition or an extra headband underneath may be a better choice.
- Pilling resistance: medium – the natural, fluffy alpaca and merino fibres may develop a light fuzz over time, especially in areas exposed to friction; this does not affect wear, but it is worth keeping in mind if you prefer a perfectly smooth surface.
- Eco-leather label – it can be unclipped for washing, which makes care easier and helps protect the detail from damage.
- Option to create a matching set – you can pair the beanie with a handmade wool scarf or snood available in the accessories section: matching wool accessories; a practical option if you are looking for a coordinated set or a winter beanie to give as a gift.
- Care: hand wash in lukewarm water, without fabric softeners, and dry flat – you can find detailed guidance here: how to care for wool; proper care can significantly extend the life of an alpaca wool beanie.
