MORGANA Large alpaca and silk shawl – choose your colour

A large symmetrical shawl made from a delicate knitted fabric containing 77% alpaca and 23% silk, made on a hand-operated knitting machine. In this version, you choose the colour and I make the shawl in your selected shade. Its generous size gives you plenty of styling options – over the shoulders, around the neck or over the head like a soft hood.

Large alpaca and silk shawl in your chosen colour

The symmetrical triangular shape makes it easy to wrap around the shoulders and back, wind around the neck or drape over the head. The larger size gives you more freedom to arrange the fabric and means the shawl can work both as a large wrap and as a more enveloping accessory for cooler days.

You can choose a colour to suit your wardrobe, coat, hat or a particular occasion. The available palette includes both light and neutral shades as well as more expressive colours. Your shawl is made in the colour you select, so it is easier to match it to the way you plan to wear it.

If you would like to create a coordinated set, you can pair the shawl with the classic MARGARET beanie or the folded MARGARET beanie.

If you choose a light shade, the shawl can also be worn as a bridal shawl or wedding wrap for the shoulders. After the occasion, it remains a practical alpaca shawl for everyday wear.

Practical details

The large size lets you wrap the shawl comfortably around your shoulders, back, neck and head. This version offers the most freedom for draping and styling.

The lightweight knit does not look bulky and adapts softly to the way you arrange it.

The natural alpaca halo gives the surface its characteristic softly fluffy appearance. If your skin is very sensitive, however, you may notice the alpaca fibres and find them slightly prickly.

The silk content complements the alpaca in this fine, lightweight yarn and contributes to the character of the finished knitted fabric.

Because of the nature of the knitted fabric, the measurements may vary slightly.

Each shawl comes with a removable faux leather label, which can easily be taken off for washing or if you prefer to wear the shawl without it.

How to wear a large shawl

You can wear it traditionally over your shoulders as a large shawl or wrap, wind it around your neck or drape it over your head so that it covers your head, nape and neck at the same time. The generous amount of fabric gives you plenty of freedom to adjust the way you wear it to the weather and your needs.

Depending on the colour you choose, the shawl can work as an everyday accessory, part of a more elegant outfit or, in a light shade, as a bridal shawl for a cooler day, evening reception or outdoor wedding.

How to care for an alpaca and silk shawl

I recommend gentle hand washing at up to 30°C. Do not wring the knitted fabric after washing. Gently press out excess water and reshape the shawl.

Dry flat – do not hang, as wet knitted fabric may stretch. While drying, you can gently shape the shawl by laying it flat on a towel or a soft mat.
