You don't always need a large scarf to keep the chill off your neck. Sometimes a small, soft neck scarf is enough – one you can tie around your neck, tuck under your jacket collar or simply wear as a lightweight accessory. ELARA is a hand-knitted scarf made from 91% cashmere and 9% silk, which I can make for you in your chosen colour.
You can match it to a hat you already own, choose a contrasting shade or put together a matching set of ELARA accessories.
A Small Scarf You Can Wear in Different Ways
ELARA has a long, narrow triangular shape. Its longest edge measures approximately 160 cm, while its widest point is only about 15 cm deep. These proportions make it easy to wrap around your neck and tie without adding lots of bulky layers.
Wear it under an autumn coat or winter jacket, or reach for it on cooler spring mornings and summer evenings. If you're not particularly fond of large scarves or find too much fabric around your neck uncomfortable, this little neck scarf may be a more practical alternative.
Cashmere and Silk – Softness Against Your Skin
I knit ELARA using a fine yarn made predominantly from cashmere, with a small amount of silk. Cashmere is valued for its softness, lightness and insulating properties. It's a lovely choice for accessories worn close to the skin, especially if you dislike the scratchy feeling of some woollen fabrics around your neck.
Because of its small size, this scarf isn't intended to replace a thick winter scarf in freezing weather. It can, however, provide an extra layer of warmth around your neck and neckline, where you may feel the cold most.
Choose Your ELARA Scarf Colour
I knit each scarf by hand, and with this listing, you can choose from the available yarn colours. You don't have to stick to the shade shown in the photographs.
If you already have an ELARA cashmere hat, you can order a matching scarf. Or you can start with the scarf and add other accessories later. I like this approach because it allows you to build a collection of pieces gradually, choosing only what you'll actually wear.
If you're looking for a similar scarf made from a different yarn or fibre blend, feel free to get in touch. I'll be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.

How to Care for Your Cashmere Scarf
Cashmere deserves gentle care. I recommend a brief hand wash in cool water using a detergent designed for wool and cashmere. Avoid rubbing or wringing the fabric. After washing, gently press out excess water using a towel, then reshape the scarf and leave it to dry flat.
